Taping. I Tape. Do You?

Disclaimer: I am NOT a Doctor. If you have a problem, you should see a doctor or physical therapist first. I am just a back pain sufferer who found some relief.

For those of you who don’t know, I was in a car accident when I was 22. Even over a decade later, I’m still constantly in pain. I don’t want to be reliant on painkillers so I’ve looked for other ways to feel relief. I tried chiropractic care and it does work, but not for long. Eventually, I realized that some days when I left, I felt great but woke up the next morning in pain. I was spending thousands of dollars and still in pain. If your injury will be able to heal, I recommend chiropractic care. If it is a long term disability, I would only use it if your insurance will cover it or you can afford it.

Last summer, I tried the steroid injections into my pelvis. That. Sucked. I couldn’t move for two days, but I felt relief. For the first time in over a decade, I felt great! It only lasted a few months and after receiving the INSANE hospital bill, I knew I couldn’t get another one done. Back at square one.

Since then, I’ve tried various gels, ointments and even a liquid from the dollar store that actually helped the most.

Enter TAPE.

Yes, tape. I had heard about athletes taping and decided to give it a go.

What’s the worst that could happen? If it didn’t work, I was already used to being in pain so it was pretty much no harm, no foul.

I found a roll of Kinesiology Tape at Walgreens for under 10 bucks. I found a how-to video and taped up my lower back.

It was unbelievable!

I’m not in constant pain anymore. I t wasn’t a cure-all and I still get pains, but not as severe. It’s so much easier to move around.

Try taping. It actually works.
