Closure?

My sister called me about an hour ago in tears. Her and her gf had called a local radio station to speak to psychic Jeffrey Wands. They got some “news” about my Mother as they were on the line. Mr. Wands told my sister that my Mother had “picked herself up” and she is okay. He went on to say that our Mother felt bad she didn’t get to say good-bye, but she knew it was time to go and she was at peace with that.

Whether you believe in psychics or not, this was much-needed. Our older siblings and I have all had some contact with our Mother over the years. We have that closure in our hearts that we never really got a chance to get while Mother was still alive.

All growing up, my sister and I were bunched together. If I got something, she did. If I went somewhere, she did. Sometimes, I forget there is a 3-year age difference. My sister was a mere 22 days shy of her 16th birthday when Mother passed. I forget she didn’t have all the childhood memories I had. We were 5 and 7 when we were put into foster care together. Her memories of my Mother are fringed around the nursing home and hospital she spent a ridiculous amount of time in over the duration of her last 5 years with us.

My point is, my sister needed this. I have been hoping, praying, and wishing something like this would happen; that someone would be able to give her the closure and peace she needs. Through her tears, I heard the almost-relief in her voice. All these years later, she has received the closure her heart needed and has been helped along her road to healing..
