Something You Did That Didn’t Have the Desired Results & What You Would Do Differently This Time

Oh heavens-to-Betsy. Where do I start with this one?! I would say about 75% of the plans I have in mind don’t pan out the way they’re “supposed” to. If there is a possibility something could go wrong, by jeezis, maury and josephine it will!

One major thing I would change would be my wedding plans. When I got married, EVERYTHING went wrong! Everything. I had one of those nightmare weddings that you just wish would end, but you’re forced to fake a smile because it is, after all, the ‘happiest day of your life’. Oh, GAG ME!

The biggest fail of my wedding was the photographer. He was old, but not Nanny-old, we’re talking decrepit old. He could barely move and when he did, it took forever. He took the worst pictures ever and argued with me all day long. He gave the DJ an attitude and even had some terse words with the owners of the reception hall. I had to lock myself in the bridal suite with my parents, who helped calm me down. The photographer actually tried to open the door, but my Dad told him to leave me alone and shut the door on him. HA!

A week later, after we got the call our pics were in, we went to get them. I told the woman of how much of a jerk the photog was. She basically called me a liar and said this guy had never been anything but professional. I was in disbelief. We left, but I took a deep breath and said “Well okay at least if he took great pictures, it will alleviate some of the tension.”

They came out horrible.

A few of them were even double-exposed.

I was BEYOND pissed.

It took a few days, but I calmed down and requested a meeting with the place. I kept getting blown off. The ‘owner’ said she was out of town and that she handled all the orders, so I couldn’t make an appointment with someone else at the studio. A week or two later, I emailed the place and the email was sent back to me “ERROR.” Apparently, the email account no longer existed.

Neither did the studio.

This place was taking new clients on, knowing they were going bankrupt. They knew they would never give me any pictures, so I guess they didn’t really care how much of a jerk the guy was to us. I was appalled. Unbelievable!

If this was now, there is so much more info available in the internet. I would have been able to see more reviews. I would also have a different bridal party and I’m sure people would have recommended someone better. All in all, it was a mess, but I’m older and wiser now. Lesson learned..

  1. Sounds like you did have a horrible experience and that company doesn’t sound like a reputable company that you would want anyone going to. I’m hoping though that things weren’t all downhill and you at least got to enjoy the wedding itself.

    1. The crazy part was they had good reviews as far as I could see. I saw them at three different bridal shows and loved their work as well. I think that’s why I was so pissed..
I tried to enjoy my wedding. I really did. So much other stuff went wrong that it was all really a nightmare..
