Blog Challenge – Day 3: A Book Review.

If you follow me on Goodreads, you’ll see it took me FOREVER to finish this book.

Reason? I read the back of the book and the forward.. then promptly started crying.

I was not ready for everything this book was about to tell me.

It was recommended to me when I admitted to someone I had problems with my husband. The more I talked with this woman, the more she insisted I read this book. Confusing, right?

How could a mother-daughter relationship book help me?

I went through it slowly, absorbing every piece of info.

It changed my life!

Things just started to click in my brain and so much finally made sense!

Choices I’ve made..

Friendships kept longer than necessary..

Relationships I should’ve cut off..

Why I fought for someone who left me hanging out to dry..

It all. made. sense.

One thing I hadn’t expected was it made me realize I am on the right track with raising Mini. As parents, we make decisions we feel are in the best interests of our children. We understand we are their first line of defense against people who would potentially hurt them and we want to shield them from what we went through.

You have two choices when you had a rough life: you can let history repeat itself or break the cycle.

If you aren’t sure about how to start breaking the cycle, start with this book.

Happy Reading!

  1. Added you on Goodreads 🙂 I try to remember to log my reading on there, but I’ve been lagging… plus I’ve been reading so many terrible romance novels that I hate for some reason.

Your little one is lucky to have you! Sounds like you really try to do your best for her 🙂

    1. I used to read sci-fi and biographies exclusively. I’ve since branched out.
Thank you 🙂 Trying my best is all I can seem to do these days.
