Should You Start a Business Just So You Can Work From Home? Yes. Here Are 10 Reasons Why

Start a business!

YES YOU!

But isn't starting a business hard?

Yes, but it doesn’t have to be.

Home-based entrepreneurs start with either something they love to do, are passionate about, or are interested in and run with it.

I wrote a blog post about it, in case you’re interested or need ideas, but this post is about why you should start your own business.

Think about it: plenty of people are already doing what you are considering. You can do it too!

PLUS: it can all be done from home and be both fun AND profitable!

Sometimes it grows into a substantial business, but for most people, it remains a passion, a hobby, a fun and enjoyable way of doing something they love that just happens to make a profit.

Most people want a peaceful life with less stress and a little pocket money at the end of the month after all the bills are paid. Right?

Consider this: if your business brings in just $250 each month, you would have an extra $3000 in a year.

Would that pay for a vacation?

Buy a motorcycle?

Cover the cost of a workshop or networking event?

Pay for a great weekend away?

When you have a business of your own and you’re doing something you love, it becomes a driver, giving you a solid reason to make good use of your spare time.

So What are the reasons you should just go for it and start a home-based biz?

Let’s discuss:

1. Options & control

You got options! You can have greater control over your life!

Cliché, but also very true.

There’s no doubt about it: money makes the world go ’round. Having more resources at your disposal gives you choices and all of them are under your direct control.

2. Financial Stability

Simply put: knowing you can pay your bills = peace of mind.

Mortgage/rent is the biggest recurring expense we have, right? If you could use your business profits to pay your mortgage or even pay the entire thing off earlier than you thought, that would be such a weight off your shoulders.

If you rent, how much relief would you feel if you had enough money in the bank to pay your rent for an entire year in advance?

Think about being just 3 months ahead financially. How does that make you feel?

3. Independence

You’re no longer tied to a boss or punching a timeclock.

As long as you take care of your customers, you can do what you want when you want!

Plus, having a business of your own that gives you even a modest second income can be a lifeline.

4. Expanding your networks

Both personal and professional!

As a business owner, you move toward cooperation and collaboration with others as you create and grow.

Customers, suppliers, service providers, advisors.. your business contacts will all have a vested interest in helping you succeed. Why? Because when you succeed, they do too!

Look for business clubs you can join for free who meet regularly to help promote each other’s products or provide helpful tips, tricks and shortcuts.

Starting your own business will open so many doors, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t do this sooner!

5. Pride & Satisfaction

YOU. DID. THAT!

Is it a small, part-time venture?

A full-fledged business bringing you a full-time income?

It doesn’t matter what it is.. doing something you have a passion for is pretty much guaranteed make you feel good about yourself.

Look at what you accomplished.

That was all you, Baby! WOOHOO!

6. Tax Breaks

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an accountant and this isn’t legal advice. Please check with your accountant or a lawyer for the latest accurate advice.

Taxes suck, but you can use things you buy for your business to reduce your tax liabilities. Some examples: computers, office furniture, office space you use, phone/internet service costs, and even some utilities.

These are just a start!

As I stated previously, please check with a professional before you just start claiming things.

7. Confidence Building

The biggest asset you can ever possess in life is self-confidence.

Having a small business of your own and doing something you both love and have a passion for will bring out the very best in you.

Your confidence will skyrocket as a result.

As your profits grow, so will your confidence.. and vice versa. The more confident you are personally and professionally, the more you will be able to grow your business.

8. Financial Freedom

What if your home business just took off and you started making more money working from your hobby or passion than you did at your regular job?

Is that possible?

YES!

Thousands of people have already done that.

Why don’t you join them?

9. Timing

This is a perfect time to start your own business!

People buying more things online and realizing the importance of buying from small businesses. Any person who shops online could be a potential customer.

There is never a better time to start your own business other than NOW. You know what they say:

No amount of delay or procrastination is going to make it quicker, safer, easier, or even more profitable.

Just get going.

You can always make changes and adjustments as you go.

What’s important is that you START.

10. your "why"

What is your strongest personal reason for wanting to start a home business?

Do you want to show everyone what a success you are?

Do you want to travel and a home business can enable that to happen?

Maybe you just want to run a wildlife preserve..

Let your imagination wander.

Whatever that reason is, hold onto that feeling behind it.

This is the MOST important reason of all and will give you the motivation to keep going, overcome challenges, persist in your business, and drive you to
succeed.

What would you add?

Bottom line? LIFE IS SHORT!

Make the decision and do something today that will move you closer to having your own business tomorrow.

Soon, you’ll be reaping the rewards!
